Coloring

Today Kaelyn just started working at coloring in the lines. I was very impressed. She was coloring in the hearts on a picture. Her phrases keep getting more sophisticated as well. Today when she couldn't figure out how to get a certain cup to her mouth with her left hand (her right wrist is out again, poor baby) she said, "Me not know how do it" It was so cute. That's our doll.

Kaelyn Funnies

Today at dinner Kaelyn was working hard at making us laugh. She made up something ridiculous to say "Eating the trash can in the trash can" and then tapped day and said "make laugh, make laugh" The make laugh part got us rolling and then she repeated it all a gazzillion times. It was pretty funny I must say and amazes us how kids pick up on these things about saying something for the purpose of getting you to laugh. Too cute.

Such a Trooper

Kaelyn has been amazing with all of the move stuff. She has just tagged along and made her own fun. It has been amazing how well occupied she can stay with books, especially her Bible Stories. So cute. She has done super well with the pottying thing and just continues to amaze us with her words. She tells daddy often that she loves him. She has been showing off all of her skills to her family and keeps us all rolling. She is loving the parks and playing basketball. Today she wanted to play basketball outside when it was time to take a bath and she asked us several times and after we said no several times she said, "pay baskeetba a lil bit later" . Ya, Kaelyn, a little bit later. "ok". So sweet. We are hoping to get to take her sledding this week with the 12-18 inches of snow we are expected to get tomorrow. Fun fun.

Spring Weather

We are having a blast with the spring weather. It is so nice to get outside. Kaelyn has been asking to go out all the time and keeps herself pretty occupied out there playing with the goats or digging in the dirt or trying to figure out how daddy's trailer works. The only vice of outside has been the peeing in the dog house. It is inevitable. We are officially potty trained except for that and night times, so the dog house is now off limits (locked) as of today. Kaelyn has hopped over that last hurdle in day time potty training to where she takes herself to the potty or tells us she needs to go. She has gone 5 days now without an accident aside from the dog house. We are so proud and can now be in big girl panties full time (no more training pants).
Kaelyn has been saying some fun things lately that just keep us rolling. Today she out of the blue said "Christmas morning" several times in a row. I was like ok, Christmas morning, what brought that up. Well, there was a gift bag sitting on the counter from my grandmother for her and she was thinking it was a Christmas present. It was so cute and amazing that at this age she is remembering things from several months ago just out of the blue. I loved it.

Some of my favorite phrases are "mommy, hold you?" for hold me, "bye bye, see you ater" for see you later. She has also been mixing up her sentances and it is so cute like her saying, "help you dishes do". She has helped a couple of times with the dishes (really just playing in the bubbles) and anytime she sees me doing them she goes over and gets her chair and pulls it over. I love it.

Mommy: not right now
Kaelyn: ummmm, watch Cars, minute?
Mommy: no, we aren't watching TV right now?
Kaelyn: ummm, watch Dora
Mommy: what did mommy say?
Kaelyn: watch Liego (Diego)
Mommy: mommy said no
Kaelyn: ok mommy

Oh there is so much to Post

Kaelyn has been a bundle of joy as well as a bit of a toot lately. Everyday is an adventure that is fun and keeps us on our toes. She has made the transition to a big girl bed very well. We ended up having to rig up a side rail, but it works well. She did great for two nights and then the next night she fell out twice. Poor baby. I felt bad, but problem fixed now. She has decided to test me a bit though and has climbed out of her bed and gotten a toy or her shoes and runs straight back to bed. Too little to know that mommy can figure that out easily when she wakes up with shoes on or is caught throwing a ball out of her bed. She is sneaky though and hardly makes any noise now once I put her to bed. The other issue is her taking off her pj's and diaper every night. I have come to discover that she is sweaty lots, so I can't get too mad, but it still requires having to go in and put them back on before I go to bed. Otherwise she wakes up cold and or wet. There is always an adventure.

We are having a blast with all of the things that she comes up with to say. She is talking so much. I love it when she asks, "how you doin day?" She says,"help you" for help me, and loves to tell us who things belong to. "Mommy's cup, daddy's chair". Today she was talking about Wyoming. Today while I was fixing her hair, she said, "more, more" I asked more what, and she said "more daddy" She wanted her daddy home. She is also really into noises. "Hear dat, mommy? Choo train" or "airplane" or "uh oh, what's that" or "daddy's home!!" It is so cute.

She has become a bit of a stinker though when it comes to doing what mommy or daddy says. She has started flailing some and screaming and running the other way when she is asked to do something. It is a bit frustrating I must say, but she wouldn't be a normal kiddo is this didn't happen though. It is teaching me to be sensitive to what is important to her and teaching us better to communicate. The time out chair is a common occurance right now. This to will pass. Along with it though as come a purposeful "I am going to find another place to pee instead of the potty" situation. She knows when she needs to go and goes to other specific places to do her deed now. We were doing so well. It will click soon. I hope that having daddy home consistantly will help this along. I think that is enough for one post.

Kaelyn loves to get in her rocking chair and read. Her favorite book to read is her "Bible stories" That blesses our hearts so much. She has been talking about the things God made and about baby Moses in the basket. Too precious.
Yes, I let my daughter play with pins. Crazy I know, but she wanted to help me while I was sewing and this kept her occupied for a long time instead of her being in my lap while I was trying to run the sewing machine. She felt like she was helping because mommy was using the pins too.
Dress up has become lots of fun lately. Don't you love the outfit. She loves her "ballet" costumes.

Just lounging around. She looked so cute today and I just wanted to squeeze her onry self all day long if she would let me. Growing up too fast, but each step is soooo much fun.

"Look it mommy, look it" She has decided that coloring on herself is more fun than on paper. Well, she knows otherwise, but that didn't stop her from looking at mommy to see if I was looking before she took the marker to her face. She said "uh oh" as soon as she noticed I saw what she was doing.

New Big Girl Bed

Kaelyn has done great transitioning into her toddler bed. We took the crib rail off on Monday and she has stayed in her bed now for two nap times and one night time. She is on her second night time right now, and is not asleep yet, but is in her bed. Yeah!!! I thought this was going to be soooo much harder. I hope she keeps this up. Here bed doesn't have a rail on it, but she seems to be doing well with it. We thought we would give it a test last night before we invested in one. She has done great so far. We will get one if we need it though.

Kaelyn Funnies

Today Kevin was teasing Kaelyn and trying to tickle her and she put a grumpy face on and didn't want him to touch her so she said, "My kitty cats, my kitty cats!!!" She had on a shirt that had kitties all over it. We hadn't talked about the kitties or anything or that it was her shirt. It was so out of the blue and funny.

Oh, and it looks like we are going to have to move her to a toddler bed soon. She has been trying to climb out of her crib. I was hoping to wait until we got to Wyoming, but we may have to hurry.

Jesus Loves Me

Last night when Kaelyn and I were saying our bed time prayers, I asked her what she was thankful for. She said "Dexter(Kelci's dog), Keci(Kelci) thank you Jesus" and then put her hands over her mouth and laughed like she was proud of herself. It was so cute. Kelci, she has been talking about you lots. Can't wait to see you guys again soon.

We are so in love with this baby girl who isn't such a baby anymore. Just today she started to get the idea of taking pictures for fun. Before it was just "mommy get that camera away from me" and would run or not look at me. Today we had fun making funny faces and then looking at them.

Open Up and Say AAHH

We had to make a trip to the Dr. the other day to get some Phenergan for Kaelyn and when Dr. A said, "Ok, I need to look in your mouth now" Kaelyn looked at him, opened her mouth, Dr. A said, "no way", then she stuck out her tongue just perfectly where he could see the back of her throat. Dr. A, goes "She didn't just do that?" I sat there going, wow, that is my girl!!!

Helping mommy

Today I was painting cabinet doors and Kaelyn said "hep you". So, I had to let her help. She was so cute because without any prompting, she dipped the brush, wiped it on the edge of the paint bucket (the most amazing part) and then brushed. She did a great job until she decided to pick up as much paint as possible on the brush and pile it on the cabinet door. Not so good for making the door look nice. Cute anyways.

Curly

Well, it seems that we now have a curly head. It is so cute. It has been curling whenever she takes a bath and now is curling lots all the time. So precious.

The weather was so gorgeous the past couple of days and we got to enjoy the park and the zoo.

Kaelyn and one of her best buddies. She was sooooo sad when Colton left today, crying lots and asking where Colton was. We got to see so many animals yesterday. I think every cat was out. Thanks Heather and Colton for coming.
