Our first words

Kaelyn officially has her first words. It is sooo cute. The one with the most purpose is pupa(puppy). When ever we let the puppies in the house she says it over and over again, pupa pupa pupa, in such an excited voice. She also says dada and mummmma on command. She will sometimes chase after me saying mummmmmma mummma.
Other things that our cute toot is doing include getting into everything, climbing stairs(no worries, the gate is up), and learning to put objects into baskets. I took her swimming the other day with her buddy Colton and Heather. At first, she was not enjoying the water at all. She clung to me with a death grip. We went to the steps and sat where she could touch and eased our way into deeper waters. All the while, Colton was splishing and splashing and laughing. Eventually, Kaelyn decided to enjoy herself and was splashing and giggling right along with Colton. She even put her face in the water and wasn't bothered by it. Yeah, we have a water baby!!

Helping with the dishes

Kaelyn was helping mommy with the dishes yesterday. She kept trying to take the bottom rack off. The she discovered water on the door and played with that for a long time. At least it was clean water. She loved it.

8 months old

boy oh boy oh boy, we certainly have a growing up girl. Our favorite thing that she does these days happens at church. Whenever the praise and worship music is going, she always sings. It is so precious to have our little girl starting off early worshiping God. What a blessing. She is pulling up on everything these days and talking up a strom. Dada and baba are her favorite things to say. We are working on momma, but it comes out as bummmmmma. She claps her hands tons and certainly has her ways of telling us what she wants.

When Kaelyn came home from Grammy's house the other day, Grammy told this wonderful story of how after feeding her a very interesting breakfast she turned into a tiger for the rest of the day. She has gotten into growling to see if she can get what she wants. It is kind of humorous.

It is so much fun to see Kaelyn get excited about things. She still loves her bath as much as before. It is so hard to even get her clothes off she is so jumpy and excited. She screaches when you put her in her highchair and loves going outside. If you step back in the door, she starts to growl. Well, that's it for now. I will try and get a few more pics up soon.

Couple of Funny stories

Kaelyn is showing quite the personality these days. She seems to have an opinion about everything in both good and naughty ways. The other day, we were playing with a bucket and putting little shaped blocks in it. As I put them in, she would take them out. I could tell she was getting frustrated with me everytime I put one back in the bucket. Finally she just let me know how she felt by taking out the pieces and throwing them across the room. I had no idea she could even do that. It made me laugh.

Kaelyn can not sit still for very long anymore and mommy has to chase her around the house all day. Her cutest new trick is for her to get me to chase her around the house. She gets going so fast laughing all the way and then she will stop so that I will tickle her. Oh, it melts my heart. She is also greatly enjoying crawling into the bathroom so she can be close to her bathtub. I guess I need to start closing doors.

Meal times have gotten a bit tricky because Kaelyn has decided to get a bit picky. If she doesn't like something, she won't spit it out, but she will make lots of noise to let you know. Daddy was not enjoying this and took charge and made her go into time out in her crib. All the while I am sitting here trying to tell myself that it will be ok, this will not scar her, we can find something else to eat in a few minutes after daddy leaves for work. Well, daddy brought her back to the table and she started screaming again when she got a bite, so daddy repeated the process. Same results so, daddy feeds her a bit of something else and then heads off to work. I change Kaelyn's diaper and she throws a huge fit and then we go back to the table. I just wanted to see what would happen. I gave her a bite and she grabs the spoon. She wimpers a bit from the bite, but she now has control of the spoon. So I put her in her chair with a bowl and the spoon and she works at feeding herself and enjoys the chicken and rice that she so very much was hating a few minutes ago. She ate the entire jar without a complaint. Lesson learned for mom, she was just throwing a fit and daddy was doing what was best, lesson for both of us, Kaelyn likes to be able to feed herself sometimes. Already trying to be independant. I think we're in trouble, but in an exciting and fun way.

Last one for now. The last few days when Kevin has gotten home, Kaelyn has started laughing and crawling to him for him to pick her up. What a joy that is to see. Now daddy knows that he is loved and special in her eyes.
