Cutie Pie

Helping momma with the laundry
Falling alseep eating - Kaelyn has started to show some real personality when it comes to eating. It is so cute and sneeky. If there is something that she doesn't want to eat, she won't spit it out, but just sits there with her mouth closed. She seems to even pretend to fall asleep. Sometimes she will eat something that she doesn't like but moans with every bite. When you give her a bite of something she likes, then she will stop moaning. It makes us laugh. The other day, she was falling asleep eating something she didn't like so I went to put her in bed. She was sleepy in my arms, but when I put her in bed, she started laughing and stood right up and kept laughing. I picked her up and she started crying. Go figure. She loves standing in her bed. Back to eating we went, and she got sleepy on me again after 2 bites.

Kaelyn loves playing with her Pappy dog. He inches up next to her with this look that says, "please play with me". He is so very gentle with her and we couldn't be more pleaded. She even slaps him most of the time, and he is still very gentle. Ringo on the other hand growls at her when she gets too close. He doesn't want her near him at all.

Snow and more snow

This snow has been crazy for Oklahoma, but boy is it beautiful. Kaelyn played outside for a smidge, not quite old enough to get a real thrill from the wonderful white creation. The goats are not too thrilled with the weather, but they stay cozy in the hut that daddy built for them. Oh yeah, by the way, we got another goat. Her name is Snowflake. Very interesting and exciting story there. If you are wondering why we would do such a crazy thing, it was because we learned an important thing about goats. They are herd animals and need company. Babe was not eating her food and was very unhappy. She is pregnant, so food is very important, so we had to get her some company. It was like magic. She loves her food now.

7 months

These months just keep getting funner and funner. Kaelyn is now seven months old and more active than ever. She is pulling up on everything and laughing and squirming with glee all the time. She certainly lets us know when she wants something or is unhappy with something. Wiping her chin when she's done eating and changing a diaper or putting on clothes are quite the chores these days, but the giggles, and kisses, and joy with life make up for it all. Here are a few cute pics. Kaelyn also got dedicated at church today. It was a beautiful service today and a wonderful time of year to be blessed to have her dedicated. She is such a blessing to us and is a gift that we get to cherish here on this earth.

1. Playing with Colton. Colton is wondering what that crazy little lady is doing.
2. Playing with Colton some more. He is such a good buddy.

The 6th Month

Boy oh boy have we been having fun or what. Kaelyn is just growing and growing and enjoying life more and more everyday. At her 6 month check up, she weighed in at 16 lbs 4 oz and was 25 1/4 inches tall. She is a shorty, but I like her that way. Kaelyn loves to eat and still only has rejected avacados. Everytime we add something new and interesting, she loves it. She says DADADADADADa all the time these days. An mmmmm sound comes out only when she is mad. Her new favorite thing to do is crawl in our laps and tug at our pant legs to get us to pick her up. She is beginning to do the real crawl more often these days except when she is really excited about getting somewhere and she goes to town with her inch worm crawling screeching as she goes. It is so cute. She still is thrilled about her bath time. She loves to bang her toes on things and slap the ground and try to lay on her puppy, Ringo. She "sings" when she plays her piano and loves to get ahold of anything that we have in our hands. She is definitely a mommas girl, but as long as momma is not in the room, she is happy with most other people. Poor daddy, his day will come soon. At least she says dada. We are just in love with our baby girl. Enjoy the cute pics and videos.

Just some baby fun

Kaelyn strutting her new diapers.

Playing at the zoo with our mommies group with the lorikeets. Kaelyn quite enjoyed looking at them, but they were a little noisy.

Our dear friends Rachel and Jason came down and visited a couple of weeks ago and we had a fabulous time getting to see them again. They live in Indiana these days.

Just a couple others for fun. I really love the one of her in her highchair and pink jammies. She just looks beautiful!!! We love our dear baby if you can't tell.

Kaelyn at 5 1/2 months

Wow!! This has been a big month for our little girl. Even just a big last two weeks. She weighs in now at 15 lbs 4 oz. She has mastered sitting well, she army crawls all over the living room requiring constant supervision. She has cut two teeth, started solid foods, and wants to check out anything that she hasn't touched before. She is so conscious of the world around her and gets bored easily with the same old things. She dumps over baskets and bangs on objects now. Grammy got her a new toy that has been her favorite lately. It is a cookie tray with several different shaped cookies that fit into respective holes. She loves to take all of the pieces out and make the tray sing. She is such a delight!! She laughs so much and gives such heart melting smiles. Life is quite fantastic. Kevin and I have definitely discovered that you can never understand the love of a parent until you become one yourself. What a priveledge it is to be blessed with children.

So far, there is no food that Kaelyn has turned down yet. She has tried bananas, pears, apples, peas, and sweet potatoes. We will try carrots next. I bet she really loves the sweet fruit we have been feeding her. She certainly lets us know how much she loves them with her cute giggles and her screaming when it is all gone.

One thing that we just do not understand. About 95% of people that see us at a store or out and about come up and say "Oh what a cute little boy". They say this even if she is dressed in pink or a dress. I don't get it. So, we started putting berets in her hair. She looks so pretty. Someday this will all change I am sure. She would make a pretty handsome boy though cause she looks so much like her daddy, but she is our beautiful girl.

Kaelyn has definitely become a momma's girl, and if momma isn't in the room then she wants daddy instead of anyone else. It is so fun that she loves us so much. She knows her parents well.

Well, check back soon.

Look at me all sittin' pretty
