Amazing Baby!!

Wow, we are amazed!! Our little princess is sleeping through the night these days at a whopping 6 weeks. This week, she has gone 8 hours 3 times at night. We hope and pray that it will continue, and we are so proud of her. Mommy is thrilled to get some good solid sleep. Kaelyn is such a smart little girl. She is also laughing a ton these days. What a joy she is!! Thank you God for our precious daughter!

First Boat Ride

This weekend was Kaelyn's first venture out on the boat. She was such a trooper and slept through the whole thing. She even slept through getting that bulky life vest on. The outing was quite an adventure for Kevin and I though. Kevin had several people from work out with us plus a couple of our friends. As many well know, we have had some very strange weather around here lately and yes, it decided to storm on us. Not just rain, but storm. Fortunatly, Kevin had already dropped Kaelyn and I off on the shore when it all hit, but everyone spent a great deal of time bundled up in the cars before it all passed. One couple stayed out on the boat during the ordeal, whick turned out to be a great miracle for us. Reason being, the anchor did not hold on the boat, and they were able to drive the boat around during the storm to keep it off shore. After the storm passed, we cooked up some buffalo hot dogs and hamburgers. It cooled off pretty good, hence Kaelyn all bundled up in her stroller. She slept straight through that as well. So, that is her first adventure with mom and dad in the boat.

Grammy and Kaelyn

Diaper Rash

For those interested in details and a new parents discovery of a good trick. Our poor little girl has a very sensitive bum that has not tolerated commercial wippies very well. Not even pampers sensitive wipes. We have been using cloth wipes with water and occasionally huggies sensitive wipes (they are the only ones without alcohol). The other wipes caused sores as you wiped, no matter how careful I was. Needless to say, this whole parenting thing has so much to do with trial and error. So much to learn, and every kiddo is so different. Her poor rash kept getting worse, even with creams and changing often. We finally tried some cornstarch powder with zinc oxide, and it has worked wonders, on top of what you see in the pic (airing it out). We couldn't resist taking this cute pic. She was all covered up, but kicked her covers off. Brrr bum. Hopefully we are on the uphill. Things are looking so much better.
